God, you're ignorant. I watched the perfect game and the 28 out game. I know the pain because I'm a Tigers fan, my whole family is. All the worlds Tiger Fans are not likely to forget this in their lifetimes. Galarraga HAS immortality because of that. Besides, none of these perfect games will be all that well remembered in? 100 years, so all that really matters is whether Galarraga is happy about it and he said he knows he pitched a perfect game. and there may be another someday.

But we're facing world disaster right now, our oceans are dying, illegal wars are being fought over oil in the name of peace, we've had the technology of electric cars for over a hundred years but it's been hidden, we probably have solar technology CURRENTLY available? but it won't be public anytime soon, and in 15 years fish may only appear in history books. It's time to wake up.

On balls and strikes MANy umpires now are just awful. It seems they have their own strike zone.. They don't see the corners (Alwayas too wide a? zone) . I really think a retraining program is needed. They blow too many calls. I do not excpext perfection with EVERY call, but you can see in many games the umpire is clearly usinfg his OWN standards for balls and strikes.

But SELIG has NEVER over turned any calls. The only time the a Game WIN was stopped was the PINE TAR game. They have to make replays on GAME CHANGING PLAYS available. Selig should give him the Perfect gamewith an ASTERICK next to the game. I am? sure there are now many 'asterick" names in the book now that all or mos tof the steroid abusers have been named.

If you overturn one blown call, there will surely be people asking them to review past blown calls begging him to overturn it. What he should do is make sure in the very near future, replay can be used to correct an umpire, if needed.

And Bud Selig has the opportunity to overturn Joyce's call so its really up? to him to make this right.

Jim Joyce HAS ...
Jim Joyce HAS ALWAYS been one the best umpires in the MLB in fact he was named best? umpire this year by MLB players. He obviously still loves his job enough not to quit it and it is only the really significant blown call in his career. It was a close call but not close enough for a blown call, he had a tearful apology to Galaragga. Besides most blown calls are made in isolated incidents not in multiples times in a single game and its not by the same umpire.

If Jim Joyce? is so incompetent why doesnt he RESIGN. WHy is he still an umpire? He blew the mos timportant call in his career. he's incompetent. but so are MANY of todays umpires. I think they need to take a serious look at the qualifications of their umpires in MLB and maybe PAY them more and get better EYES. How this moron blew that call is BEYOND unimaginable.

If he got the call right, everyone would probably remember, after all, that would have been the third perfect game in 1 season (Halladay and someone from the? A's). 3 perfect games in just one season does not happen often
